Community Connection works closely with service providers to ensure accurate, up-to-date information is available to support high-quality referrals across the 211 system.
You can request 211 promotional materials to share with your clients or request a presentation by using our contact form.
We rely on service providers to review and update their program and service information through our annual validation process. Keeping your information current helps ensure people receive accurate referrals and can access the services they need.
Our Database Resources team researches, classifies, and maintains service information across our platforms. We contribute regional data to the provincial 211 Ontario directory (211ontario.ca) and to a range of local and regional directories developed in partnership with community organizations.
All organizations and programs are contacted at least once per year to review and confirm their listings. In addition, our team monitors news, public sources, and community updates to identify service changes and new programs that meet our inclusion guidelines.

Understanding the 211 Database Structure
The 211 database is organized into three types of records—Agency, Site, and Program (Service)—to support accurate, flexible, and easy-to-maintain information. This structure allows updates to be made efficiently when services change, relocate, or expand.
- Agency Record
Provides an overview of the organization, describing its overall purpose and activities using clear, active language - Site Record
Identifies a physical or administrative location, with details about where services are delivered or how the site functions - Program (Service) Record
Describes specific services or programs offered, including what the program provides and how people can access it
