211 for Service Providers

Request 211 promotional material to distribute to your clients, or request a presentation using the contact us form.

We reply on service providers to respond to our annual reminders to update their programs and services. Do we have the most current information about your organization to make informed referrals?

Community Connection’s Data Curator team research, classify and update most of the information on our websites and contribute our regional data to the provincial directory at 211ontario.ca and other directories developed for our varied partners.

All organizations and progress are contacted at least annually, with a request to review and validate their services listed. Our team monitors news and social media, seeking changes and new listings that meet our inclusion policy.

Search your listings now.

Suggest a new listing by completing details in this form.

Suggest changes to any listing using “suggest update” at the bottom each listing.

Database structure, agency, program and site records

The 211 database has three different types of records: Agency, Site, and Program (or Service) records. This differentiation allows for more precise searching. This structure also makes it much easier to update a record should an agency move, or a given program expand or relocate. In that case typically only one record will need to be modified, rather than changing that information in all programs offered at a given site.

The Agency record provides a general and overarching statement about what the agency does. It is best to use active verbs to describe it.

The Site record describes the site, or physical location of the agency. The description can be as straightforward as ‘is a site location for [agency x], or ‘is the administrative office of [agency x]; services are provided elsewhere, see additional service records for details. ‘ It may also include details such as ‘clothing donations can be dropped at back entrance.’

The Program (or Service) record describes what a specific program does for a client requesting service or further information.

If you have questions or suggestions, complete the contact form and we will get back to you.

Land Acknowledgement

For over 15,000 years, Indigenous people walked upon and cared for the lands we now inhabit. The traditional inhabitants of this land, on which we work and live, include the Métis Nation, Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, and Wendat Confederacy.  These people and many others have inhabited this land, which was used as hunting and gathering places to support families and communities.

We are grateful for the opportunity to meet, work, and live here, and we thank all the generations of people who have taken care of this land for thousands of years. We acknowledge the impact of colonization and the loss of these lands on Indigenous people.

This recognition is clearly and overtly connected to our collective commitment to make the promise and the challenge of Truth and Reconciliation real in our communities.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Community Connection is committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization. We recognize the history of oppression that has resulted in ongoing disparities for the people and communities we serve.

Community Connection’s work is to guide people through the human service system and overcome barriers preventing them from acquiring needed services. We will identify and implement culturally relevant approaches to serving diverse populations and their unique needs.

We believe that by prioritizing engagement with diverse perspectives and evolving our organization to be inclusive and behave equitably, we will improve our services to people and build opportunities for learning, change, and accountability.
